Broadcast / Post-Production
A new system was developed, based around KVM technology. As all applications needed to be controlled by Crestron touchscreens and iPads, a highly flexible KVM matrix was required to enable interconnections for a large range of devices.
Many powerful computers have been installed, causing problems in the restricted space assigned to the control galleries. The audience could see, and hear operations in the control room which distracted them from the performance. A redevelopment was needed!
Full and complete flexibility was needed to control the entire operations center, which is achieved with a configuration of four fully-populated Draco Major KVM switches. In total this allows 128 computers to be switched to 64 operator stations.
The Star PAC needed a system that would enable operators to easily access the equipment located in a Central Equipment Room (CER) from their workstation in the broadcast control suite, recording studio or edit suite.
The Media center needed maximum flexibility and versatility, achieved through the use of comprehensive file data distribution and user access to computers to ensure that video content and files are made available rapidly, wherever they needed.
